Frem Condemns Ghazir Crime and Denounces the Alarming Lawlessness in the Country

The Chairman of Project Watan’s Executive Board, MP Neemat Frem, condemned the heinous crime that claimed the lives of Georges Al-Thoumy and his wife in Ghazir, denouncing in a statement the alarming state of lawlessness sweeping the country.

The statement read: “With deep concern and profound sorrow, I received the news of the horrific crime that took the lives of Georges Abdallah Al-Thoumy and his wife in Ghazir – a crime that has shaken the Lebanese conscience and sparked widespread outrage and condemnation.

What happened is not an isolated incident, but a bloody chapter in a recurring cycle of violence that clearly reflects the depth of social disintegration and the complete collapse of the state project – particularly in guaranteeing the safety and security of citizens – amid a terrifying spread of lawlessness, even in residential and touristic areas.

I strongly condemn this alarming breakdown and the continued violation of people’s right to a safe and dignified life. I call on the security and judicial authorities to act swiftly and decisively to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, and to impose the severest punishment upon them – in order to preserve what remains of the state’s authority and the people’s trust in it.

May the souls of the two victims rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences go to the Al-Thoumy family, to the people of Ghazir, Maameltein, Keserwan-Ftouh, and to all of Lebanon, united in grief.”
