Frem: Greater Lebanon’s Survival Hinges on State Authority and Rule of Law

The Chairman of Project Watan’s Executive Board, MP Neemat Frem, wrote on his X account: “On the anniversary of the proclamation of Greater Lebanon, and as it enters its second centenary, the entity faces a real danger. Following the collapse, the question is: when do we begin rebuilding?”

Frem continued: “Today, uncontrolled weapons, financial collapse, and paralysis in decision-making mechanisms… all are indicators of a state losing its very reason for existence. What we are facing is not an internal debate, but rather a ‘failed entity’ narrative being shaped abroad over the past five years. Illegal weapons are no longer merely a domestic issue, but have become a test of the state’s credibility.”

He concluded: “There is no path for Greater Lebanon except through the state, the rule of law, and the sole legitimate institutions capable of protecting the entity.”
