Frem to Jounieh’s New Municipal Council: Development Should Lead Politics

The Chairman of Project Watan’s Executive Board, MP Neemat Frem, received Jounieh’s newly elected municipal council following its victory in the municipal elections held on Sunday, May 4.

Frem stated that the success of the “Nahdat Jounieh” (Jounieh’s Revival) list was the result of the commitment to the agreements between the pillars of the electoral alliance, combined with the candidates’ experience and determination, and the trust they earned from the people of Jounieh.

He emphasized that the role of the sponsoring alliance ends once the council assumes its productive role – though a watchful eye and an outstretched hand will remain. “You are now steering the ship, and we stand fully ready to meet any request or offer additional support. Development should lead politics, not the other way around,” Frem said.

He concluded with a word of advice to the council: “Remain united – one hand, one heart. Leave politics at the doorstep of the municipality, and steer clear of vindictiveness.”

Faysal Frem

In turn, the newly elected president of the municipal council, Faysal Frem, expressed his gratitude for the support and trust the list received. He called on the five-party alliance to raise its voice in securing a fair share of balanced development for the Keserwan district – including Jounieh – as the new era begins, so that the municipality can carry out its plans and reinforce the bond of trust between the municipality and its citizens.
