Murder of Pascal Sleiman: Project Watan Calls for a Clear, Comprehensive, and Truthful Presentation to Public Opinion

“Project Watan” has issued the following statement:

“Project Watan vehemently condemns the heinous murder of Pascal Sleiman, head of the Lebanese Forces' Jbeil district office, which has deeply shaken Lebanon and its people.

While extending the deepest condolences to Sleiman’s family, loved ones, and comrades, as well as to the Lebanese Forces party, Project Watan calls upon all relevant parties to fully shoulder their responsibilities in this delicate situation. We urge for the completion and expansion of the investigation to swiftly uncover the circumstances of this abhorrent crime, in order to present a clear, comprehensive, and truthful picture to the public opinion and to bring the perpetrators to justice.  

Project Watan highly commends Sleiman’s family stance on this painful event and calls for restraint, self-control, and efforts to pacify the public. We also express our deep solidarity with all efforts aimed at preventing further escalation and undesirable outcomes.

As we denounce the country’s decline amidst the disintegration and dissolution of the state and its foundations, and the audacity of scoundrels who find it easy to brazenly and callously murder citizens without remorse, we call for honoring the memory of the late Sleiman by upholding human and national values and principles, and by praying for his soul and for our wounded and suffering homeland.”
