“Project Watan” Congratulates Trump and Hopes His Election Brings Peace to Lebanon

“Project Watan’s” Executive Board held its weekly meeting, chaired by MP Neemat Frem and attended by all members. Discussions focused on the US elections and their implications for our region, with congratulations extended to President Donald Trump, as well as on the ongoing war that continues to devastate Lebanon and take lives. The following statement was issued afterward:

  1. Project Watan reviewed the results of the American elections. The participants listened to experts in American politics who presented a detailed analysis of the shift in the American electorate’s mood toward a return to social, cultural, and family values, along with the American people’s determination to prioritize their country’s interests and economy. The Board considered that this is exactly what the Lebanese people need to return to the arena of their nation and pursue their own interests, beginning with the election of a president and the restoration of state institutions.

  1. The participants expressed hope that the election of President Donald Trump would bring peace to Lebanon. Today, a new spirit prevails globally, opening a significant chapter based on the principle of a win-win situation, representing added value that has become a priority benefiting all parties. Therefore, as Lebanese, we must respond to this new spirit and learn how to engage with it to bring an end to the war as quickly as possible.
  2. The Board strongly condemned the incident in Batroun and confirmed, after a meticulous examination of developments since October 8, 2023, that Lebanon’s sovereignty is violated daily, with the state and its legitimate powers constrained, as the decision for war lies beyond their control, and Resolution 1701 is being continuously breached down to the hour and minute. This clearly underscores the urgent need for a ceasefire, full adherence to Resolution 1701 in all its provisions, a commitment to state-building, and the return of all Lebanese to the nation, so that this nation can return to us.
